Questa Public Works Acquires New HVAC Truck

The Village of Questa Public Works Department received a major upgrade this week with the delivery of a new heavy duty service truck, made possible through State of New Mexico Capital Outlay funding.

The truck arrived Thursday, July 17, and was immediately put into action with an on-site training session led by Arizona Wastewater Industries, the distributor of the equipment.

Village officials credited Senator Roberto “Bobby” Gonzales and Representative Kristina Ortez for their continued support in securing the funds needed for the new fleet addition.

“This truck will drastically improve our ability to respond to infrastructure issues year-round,” Jacob LaFore with the Village of Questa said in a statement.

The HVAC truck will allow the department to excavate using both air and water with a single vehicle—cutting down on repair time and improving efficiency. Housed in a heated enclosure, the system is designed for reliable performance even in cold weather, a key feature for northern New Mexico operations.

The truck also allows for potholing and large-scale excavations and includes multiple blower capacities to suit different job needs. Its low RPM design reduces fuel consumption, lowers noise pollution, and enhances safety by allowing operators to better hear traffic and communicate on-site.

Village officials say the new equipment is expected to increase operational efficiency while contributing to long-term cost savings.
