Prayer Group Prays For Healing In Questa And Beyond

A group of Christian believers has taken to the highest points in northern New Mexico to pray for healing in Questa and surrounding communities.

Led by a collective of spiritual leaders, the group meets twice a month and hikes to significant symbolic locations across the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, including Flag Mountain, Centennial Hill, and Cabresto Road to lift up prayers for restoration, healing, and what they describe as a “spiritual cleanse.”

In Questa, the group led by Living Word Ministries have already completed three prayer walks, including along Cabresto Road, which they noted has been the site of several fatal incidents. There, the group poured water brought from the Holy Land and anointed the soil with oil in a symbolic act of cleansing. They physically walked from both ends of the road, meeting in the middle to pray and “proclaim the streets for Jesus.”

The group also visited Centennial Hill, described as a spiritual crossroads and historical area of commerce; and Flag Mountain, a place where wildfires once threatened the community.

Next month, the group plans to hold prayer walks in Taos, followed by visits to Angel Fire and Red River in September. At each location, they research the area’s name, origin, and history, seeking to understand the significance of the land before offering prayer, worship, and raising their banner reading “Yeshua—King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”

“We believe each community in our region has a destiny,” Pastor Gayle said. “We are calling forth that destiny and praying for our land to be healed—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

The prayer effort, rooted in scripture and spiritual tradition, is part of what the group describes as a regional revival
—one step at a time, from the mountain peaks down to the streets.
