Elmer Archuleta

OBITUARY: Elmer Archuleta

d. Jan. 13, 2026

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we remember Elmer Archuleta, who peacefully passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Questa, New Mexico, on February 5, 1933, to Adonario and Crecelia Archuleta, Elmer’s life was a testament to devotion, kindness, and the enduring power of family.

Elmer was a beloved husband to Esther for 73 years—a partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering support. Together, they raised a close-knit family, nurturing values that continue to shape generations. Elmer’s children—Maryjane (Oscar), Elma, Larry (Lori), Bernadine (Steven), and Albert (Lori)—along with his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, carry forward his legacy of warmth and togetherness.

An avid fisherman, Elmer found true joy in the great outdoors. He delighted in sharing his passion for fishing and nature with his children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories on the water that will live on in our hearts. His gentle spirit, wisdom, and laughter enriched every family gathering and inspired all who knew him.

As we celebrate Elmer’s remarkable life, we honor the countless ways he touched our lives—with love, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to family. His memory will forever be a guiding light for us all.

The family extends their gratitude to The Miners Long Term Care staff for the support and care provided during this challenging period. A celebration of his life will take place on February 7th at 1 p.m. at Rivera’s Funeral Home, located at 818 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos, NM, 87571. A reception will follow immediately at the Questa VFW, Sagebrush Rd 522, Questa, NM, 87556.
