39th Annual Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally Makes a Comeback!

Even though Red River’s Rally is not as big as South Dakota’s Sturgis or Florida’s Daytona Beach, it surely is one of the oldest in the nation. With its almost 40-year history, the Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally is well known all over the country.

The 39th Annual Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally is making a comeback this year and is scheduled for May 27 through May 31*. This popular Memorial Day weekend tradition brought thousands of road warriors from all parts of New Mexico and surrounding states who line Main Street with their motorcycles. This weekend kicks off the town’s summer season in true Red River style, although taking into account the current health climate!

Bikers from near and far cruise around the 84-mile loop of the Enchanted Circle, making many stops along their way. Many Memorial Day traditions are cherished during this truly Enchanted Circle event: from stopping at the annual Veterans Healing Field of Honor in Questa to visiting the Vietnam Veteran Memorial complex in Angel Fire, to attending the Flag Retirement Ceremony in Red River. Join us in remembering our nation’s heroes and fallen soldiers.

A true motorcycle rally could not be complete without different contests, specialty vendors, and live music! All Red River bars and breweries will be hosting live music concerts featuring our favorite local and guest musicians. Challenge yourself to the famous tattoo contest or try your luck at many other contests during this event. Many beloved vendors are returning to Red River and bringing all sorts of goods: from leather attire and collectible patches to specialty products like prescription motorcycle goggles and gourmet food. Instead of having vendors concentrated in the middle of the town at Brandenburg Park, they will spread out throughout the whole town along Main Street and River Street.

During the weekend, the Busted Knuckles Stunt Tour will wow spectators with three performances each day. These “American Daredevils” push the limits of their Harley-Davidson motorcycles, performing wheelies, acrobatics, burnouts, jumps, pyrotechnics, and other gravity-defying stunts! The louder the crowds, the wilder the stunts. Exciting, crazy, fun, and completely insane, the Busted Knuckle Stunt Tour is one of the featured highlights of the weekend.

Town of Red River will proceed with this event in accordance with all COVID-19 policies and procedures implemented by the State of New Mexico at the time of the event.
