Dolores “Dee” Garcia

Longtime Questa resident Dolores “Dee” Garcia, 76, passed away on August 25, 2021. Dolores was born on August 31, 1944 to Alfredo and Maria Socorrito Duran in Questa, NM. She was always so hardworking, from the many jobs she held, to the volunteer positions she fulfilled for the church. She was always happy to be involved in projects. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. With a quick wit and a fiery personality, she is a wonderful force of nature that will be missed dearly by her family and the community.


Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Garcia, parents, sisters Elsie (Cirilo) Ramos, Lydia Esquibel, Arabella (Norbert) Ortega, Angelica Cordova, and Gloria Herrera.


She is survived by her children, who were her pride and joy: Pamela (David) Garcia of Cerro, NM and Edmund (Tami) Garcia of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, whom she loved dearly, Paola “Nika” Garcia of Colorado Springs, CO, Gabriela Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, Alexan-drea (Marcelino) Grayson of Santa Fe, NM, Haley (Beau) Kallas of Las Vegas, NV, and Jordan Garcia of Las Vegas, NV; and one step-grandson, Eric Stone of Dublin, Ireland; as well as one great-grandson, Rowan Dwelle of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by her sisters Toni (Johnny) DeHerrera of Ogden, UT, Elsie Mae (Clarence) Lucero of Rio Rancho, NM, and Arlene (Mike) Baca of West-minster, CO. Brothers-in-law include Joe Esquibel of Grand Junction, CO, Anecito Cordova of Santa Fe, NM, and Roger Herrera of Questa NM; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
