As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on all that our small but mighty community newspaper has accomplished—because of you. Your support has allowed us to continue doing what matters most: telling our stories, preserving our history, and uplifting the voices of northern Taos County.
Over the past year, we’ve invested directly in our community by covering stories that celebrate who we are and where we’re going. We’ve been there for the moments that define us—from the historic ringing of Los Días led by Bernie Torres and his crew, to the celebration of 85 years of history at the Red River community house.
We’ve looked at how federal changes could impact our community, followed the progress and implications of the Green Hydrogen Project, and investigated the BestCare Pharmacy case—ensuring accountability for the businesses that serve our people.
We’ve shined a spotlight on our local athletes, notably the Questa Wildcat Cheer team as they brought home their fifth state title in a decade. We’ve covered the Village of Questa’s ongoing work—its decisions on EMS and fire services, grant funding, and initiatives to serve our residents and we’ve seen the major investments Red River is making in it’s infrastructure and tourism grants.
We’ve walked alongside the pilgrims journeying from Costilla to Questa and to the Santuario. We’ve honored the lives and legacies of generational norteños whose deep roots continue to nourish this land. And we’ve highlighted the new generation of community builders whose investments are helping northern Taos County grow and thrive.
In short—we’ve covered the small stories and the big ones, the moments of triumph and the quiet acts of care that make our community what it is. We have carried our stories forward with heart, truth, and dedication.
