Sol y Canto, an award-winning Latin music duo featuring a Puerto Rican-Argentine singer and a New Mexican guitarist, will perform at The Sala in Questa at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.
The husband-and-wife duo of Rosi and Brian Amador blends original songs with Latin music classics, drawing on musical traditions and rhythms to explore themes of love, hope, social justice and everyday life.
Rosi Amador, whose family roots are Puerto Rican and Argentine, is known for her clear, expressive vocals. Brian Amador, a New Mexico native, accompanies her on Spanish guitar and contributes original compositions.
Their performances feature vocal harmonies, Spanish guitar, cajón and bongos, with music ranging from lively dance rhythms to gentle ballads.
Sol y Canto has won Boston Music Awards three times as Latin Artists of the Year, according to the duo’s promotional materials.
The Questa concert is part of the musicians’ upcoming visit to New Mexico, which also includes a performance in Albuquerque. The appearance offers audiences in northern New Mexico an opportunity to experience the duo’s blend of original songwriting and Latin musical traditions.
The concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at The Sala in Questa. Tickets are $25 per person and the public is encouraged to attend.
