Library Returns To Routine With Exciting Fall Programs

Do you remember when summer vacation seemed to last forever? There was time for camp, family vacations, afternoons spent reading in the shade, and endless days with friends and neighbors. Before we knew it, back-to-school shopping arrived, signaling the end of summer and the beginning of a new routine.

Today, summer seems to fly by much more quickly. As students return to the classroom and families settle into their fall schedules, the library is also transitioning from a busy summer filled with children’s programs and special events to a season packed with community activities and lifelong learning opportunities.

The fall calendar begins on August 15 with Voces de Nuestro Pais featuring Daniel Lamb and Kenny Lacome. On September 12, Bobby and Dwayne Ortega will be the Voces guests. These special presentations will celebrate music, culture, community, and storytelling, offering an engaging experience for attendees of all ages.

Returning on September 25 is the ever-popular Twirl program. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and creative spirit, Twirl encourages participants to learn, connect, and have fun together. And rumor has it there will be plenty of rubber bands involved in this month’s activity!

The library’s popular Wrapped Reads teen book boxes will continue through the fall. Available to all local teens—including students at Questa Schools, Red River Charter School, Roots and Wings, as well as homeschoolers—each box includes two free books, gadgets, and snacks thanks to the generous support of the LOR Foundation. Teens should reserve their Wrapped Reads box by the 15th of each month.

Library staff is looking forward to welcoming patrons back as regular programming resumes. Along with these featured events, visitors can enjoy the library’s collections, resources, and services throughout the year. Be sure to check the library calendar, both at the library and online, for the latest information about upcoming programs and events. We look forward to seeing you this fall!
