Alyse Lovato closed out her high school basketball career on a high note Friday, March 20 competing in the New Mexico High School Coaches Association All-Star Game at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
Lovato, a senior standout, suited up for the New Mexico Red All-Stars in the annual showcase featuring top players from 1A and 2A schools. The game, formerly known as the North-South All-Star Game, matched the Red team against the Green All-Stars.
The Red All-Stars secured a 12-point victory over the Green team, providing a fitting finale for Lovato’s outstanding career.
The appearance capped a season of milestones for Lovato, who reached 1,500 career points on Jan. 29. A fifth-year varsity player, she achieved the mark while continuing to lead her team on and off the court.
A multi-sport athlete who also competes in soccer and track, Lovato said her support system played a key role in her success.
Lovato’s performance in the all-star game served as a final highlight in a career defined by consistency, leadership and competitive drive.
