OBITUARY: Alvin Guilbeau

D. May 4, 2026

Alvin Guilbeau passed away peacefully May 4, 2026 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born Nov. 4, 1937 in Opelousas, LA.

Alvin is survived by his wife Darlene Guilbeau; daughter Cynthia Smith (Lake); stepson Anthony Delgadillo; brother Bobby Guilbeau; grandchildren, Joe Smith (Lori), Ashley Colbeck (Logan) and their son Hunter, Caroline Smith, Ben Smith (Jennifer) and their children Quigley and Brook Smith; Alvin was previously married to †Verna Guilbeau.

Alvin and Darlene are members of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Questa, NM, where Alvin served as an Elder until his passing, he has served as a servant since the age of 24.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Douglas and Percilla Jett and her sister Evelyn Coggins, John Butcher, Richard and Betty Cardona and their children Eleazar, his wife Sophia and son Asher, Richard Hoyle and his wife Mimi, Alex Arellano and his wife Tori, Amos Pacheco and his wife Erica, and their children Eliana and Enrique, for their invaluable care and companionship.

Thank you to all the members of the Questa congregation for the emotional and physical support during this difficult time of need. Thank you to all those who have reached out and shown Christian love through calls and prayers.

Darlene looks forward to serving in the Questa, NM congregation with all these wonderful friends.
