Daniel Herrera, 35, a resident of Arroyo Hondo, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2025. Sunrise was November 17, 1989 and sunset was May 28, 2025. Daniel loved to live in the moment. He will be dearly missed.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel B. Herrera; grandfathers Manuel (Papo) Romero, and Crespin (Pop) Torres; great-grandparents Armando and Rafelita Gonzales, Emelina and Leonardo Valerio, Delferio Romero, Ruben and Erlinda Herrera, Olivia Lucero, and Alfred Lucero, Sr; uncles Alfred “Duno” Lucero, Wilfred Lucero and Chuck Jeantete; niece Alessandra Torres; cousins Ernest Loya, Jose Romero, Viento and Andrea Herrera, and Stacey Romo; close friends Jenna Trujillo and Aaron “Shorty” Vigil.

He is survived by parents Alicia and Danny Torres; grandparents Beatrice Romero, Susana Torres, Dan and Mildred Herrera; stepmom Audra Herrera; siblings Arthur (Ashley) Martinez, Patrick (Rachel) Torres, Christopher (Destinni) Torres, Dazza, Bridgette and Savannah; auntie Michelle and Tio Eduardo “Piti” Cordova; nieces and nephews Jaycee, Aspen, JulieAnna, Myrella, Arthur Jr., Christopher Jr., Abel, Avery, Alonzo and Aalijah, Rudy, Jordan, Messiah, Madelyn Rose and Angelo; aunties and uncles Leroy (Esther) Romero, Armando (Haydee) Romero, Donna Torres, Albert Torres and Pat (Joesette) Torres, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; those he considered as “brothers and sister” Angelo, Santana, Enrique, and Damian.

Public viewing was held on Friday, June 13 in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Memorial Service was held on Friday, June 20, with burial to follow at the Upper Arroyo Hondo Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Arthur, Patrick, Christopher, Angelo, Enrique and Damian. Honorary bearers are Alonzo, Jordan and Messiah.
