The Questa Independent School District has hired a new principal. The district announced via social media that Mr. Ronnie D. Miller, M.Ed., was selected as the Principal of Questa Junior/Senior High School.
According to the post, Mr. Miller comes to Questa with a wealth of experience in education. The post goes on to note his experience comes from Lubbock, Texas Independent School District, where he served as a 1st grade teacher at Maedgen Elementary School. Mr. Miller also served as the Head P.E. Coach for two years to implement a new campus-wide behavior program. The district notes he was recruited to serve on the turnaround team at Dunbar College Preparatory Academy as a 6th grade English, Language Arts, and Reading teacher.
Mr. Miller’s administrative journey began at Kermit, TX independent school district, where he served as the assistant principal at the 600-student elementary school. He has also served as the Assistant Principal at Legacy Freshman High school in midland, Texas independent school district, serving over 900 9th grade students.
Mr. Miller successfully led the secondary campuses at Iraan-Sheffield Collegiate independent school district in Iraan, TX as secondary principal including the transformation of the district into a P-TECH, P20 and collegiate model under Dr. Tracy Canter.
Mr. Miller holds multiple certifications in Texas, including Principal as Instructional Leader and Superintendent of Schools. He also holds a New Mexico license for Principal. Prior to his time in education, he served as an executive within the American Express Retail Travel Network. Mr. Miller is excited to be in Questa to serve the students, families and staff of the Questa Independent School District.
