Looking for a fun way to spend an evening, meet new people, and maybe show off your competitive side? The Questa Public Library has just the thing.
The library is excited to launch Community Game Night, a new program designed to bring neighbors together for an evening of board games, card games, laughter, and friendly competition.
Whether you’re a seasoned strategist, a card shark, or someone who simply enjoys a good time with friends, Game Night offers a chance to unplug, relax, and enjoy the company of fellow community members. “Libraries are places where people come together to learn, explore, and connect,” said library volunteer Dawn Provencher. “Game Night is another way for us to bring the community together. You don’t have to be an expert at any game. Just bring your sense of fun.”
While the goal is certainly to have a good time, Game Night offers benefits beyond entertainment. Games encourage creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. They also create natural opportunities for conversation and connection, something that’s increasingly valuable in today’s busy world.
For adults and teens, Game Night provides a fun activity that brings generations together. For adults, it’s a chance to unwind and socialize. For newcomers to the community, it’s an easy, welcoming way to meet people. Games break the ice and bring people together.
Participants can expect a variety of games ranging from quick and easy favorites to strategy games that challenge players to think several moves ahead. Don’t know how to play? No problem. There will be plenty of people ready to teach newcomers.
The library encourages everyone to come out, try something new, and enjoy an evening of good-natured fun. After all, the only thing better than winning a game is sharing a laugh with your neighbors. So gather your family, challenge a friend, or come solo and make some new ones. Game on, Questa!
