The Questa High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) group had a big weekend at the New Mexico FFA Leadership Conference in Albuquerque. The conference was held from Feb. 7 to 9 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Students placed third statewide in the middle school Quiz Bowl! The game is similar to Jeopardy, with agriculture and FFA questions.

Team members in the 3rd-place team included Jessica Jackson (8th), Brisa Lara (8th), Jolene Segura (8th), and Elijah Segura (6th). The alternate was Estevan Lara (6th). In addition to the impressive third place win, Jessica Jackson also competed in an Illustrated Talk competition, for which she placed first in district to qualify to participate.

The New Mexico Leadership Conference is full of opportunities to grow as a leaders. This weekend conference is full of workshops from past and current state officers, allowing members to engage in an interactive setting to learn skills that can be used in these chapters, communities, and students’ daily lives.
