The town of Red River has captured the attention of snow enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, having been nominated again for the highly coveted “Best Destination for Snow” and “Best Ski Town” awards in USA Today. In 2021, according to Visit Red River’s Facebook page, the town of Red River accrued serious ski season bragging rights by winning “Best Ski Town.”
Mayor Linda Calhoun expressed her excitement and gratitude for Red River̕s nominations, saying “we are truly honored to be recognized by USA Today as a top contender in both… categories. Our town is dedicated to providing an unparalleled winter experience for visitors, and these nominations further validate our efforts.”
Red River offers visitors the enjoyment of ski adventures, snowshoeing expeditions, snowmobile sessions, sleigh rides, and winter torchlight parade fireworks — a unique sight, viewing skiers racing down the mountain at dusk in zig-zagging unison!
The nominations for this award were carefully selected by a panel of experts who considered factors such as the variety of winter activities available, the picturesque snow-covered landscapes, and the presence of ample snowfall.
Voting for the Best Destination for Snow and Best Ski Town awards is now open to the public. Locals and visitors alike are encouraged to cast their vote for Red River once per day until Monday, December 4, at 10 a.m. MST. The results will be announced on Friday, December 15, celebrating the top 10 winning destinations.
