The Town of Red River has been recognized with multiple national awards for its economic development and tourism efforts.
The International Economic Development Council presented Red River with its 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award in the Special Purpose Website category, honoring a project that served rural residents. The town also received two Silver Awards in the Multimedia Promotion and Special Event categories.
The awards will be presented at IEDC’s annual conference Sept. 14–17 in Detroit, where Red River’s director of economic development and tourism, Max Khudiakov, will be recognized.
“Town of Red River is leading the field of excellence in economic development with its tourism industry promotion efforts and small business development program,” IEDC President and CEO Nathan Ohle said in a statement. “These awards shine a spotlight on the town’s commitment to its community.”
Khudiakov said the recognition highlights the importance of collaboration between the town, local businesses and community partners.
“We are honored to be recognized by IEDC for our work to strengthen Red River’s economy through innovative marketing, special events and strategic small business support,” Khudiakov said.
Nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Red River is a year-round destination known for outdoor recreation and tourism. Town officials said the awards reflect ongoing efforts to support small businesses, promote sustainable growth and invest in the community’s long-term economic vitality.
