Travelers to and from northern New Mexico will soon have more options as the Town of Taos announced expanded air service at Taos Regional Airport beginning this summer.
The expansion includes the return of JSX flights to four destinations—Dallas Love Field, Austin Executive Airport, McLellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, and Burbank Hollywood Airport—along with new direct service to Denver International Airport via Contour Airlines.
“We are excited to announce this expansion of air service at Taos Regional Airport, which will make it easier for families in Taos to travel for vacation, business opportunities, medical purposes, and to visit loved ones,” said Town of Taos Mayor Pascual Maestas. “The new air services direct from Taos to so many destinations will create affordable options for Taoseños to see the world and share our culture and history with visitors.
The expanded service launches June 26 and will operate three times weekly through Sept. 29, covering all five destinations. In the fall, service will continue to Denver from Oct. 2 through Dec. 15, also three times per week.
“The vision of the Taos Regional Airport is to develop the airport into a sustainable transportation hub for northern New Mexico, growing responsibly to accommodate more air travelers, while offering a true Taos experience,” said Airport Manager Colton Rapstine.
The new Denver route connects travelers to 189 domestic and 33 international destinations through Denver International Airport, opening up broader travel opportunities for Taos residents and visitors.
