Certified Building Official – Taos County Planning & Zoning Department: Performs a variety of administrative, supervisory, and working-level paraprofessional technical duties as needed to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the daily operations of the Building Inspection Division of the County Planning Department. Ensures compliance with county and state building and energy conservation codes, as well as assigned county ordinances. Performs inspections on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for conformity to established county and state building and energy conservation codes. Serves as the County’s Certified Building Official in controlling the enforcement and inspection of county residential and commercial structures for conformity to established county and state building codes. Communications Specialist Trainee – Taos County Emergency Communications: Performs entry-level skilled communication and routine clerical work in receiving, recording, processing, transmitting telephone, radio, and alarm system calls; dispatching routine and emergency information/resources; and keeping official records. Trainee employees have little or no dispatch experience. Will be required to obtain NM Law Enforcement Academy Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification within one (1) year of employment and must maintain certifications throughout employment. Will be required to work on a rotating shift basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and is subject to recall during emergency incidents to assist with communications. Pay: $20.43 per hour. DWI Compliance Officer – Taos County DWI Program: Under the direction of the DWI Coordinator, the DWI Compliance Officer performs a variety of technical administrative duties to monitor and ensure that first-, second-, and third-time DWI offenders and domestic violence defendants maintain compliance with court-ordered judgments and penalties. Will be trained in officer’s basic training for office safety and required to follow AOC guidelines and accreditation standards. Pay: $18.76 per hour. Fire and EMS Lieutenant – Taos County Fire & EMS: Under the direction of the Fire/EMS Chief and Deputy Chief, the Lieutenant is responsible for performing direct patient care, including assessment, evaluation, and basic and advanced life support according to New Mexico state standards and the Employee Code of Conduct. The Fire/EMS Lieutenant also performs clerical and various maintenance duties. Maintenance Technician – Taos County Facilities Management Department: Under the direction of the Facilities Management Director and/or the Facilities Management Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs routine preventive, general maintenance, and repairs on buildings, recreational facilities, parks, systems, and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, and custodial. The position involves the operation and use of various light motorized and electrical tools and equipment, as well as non-motorized and non-electrical tools and equipment used in all types of construction, maintenance, landscaping, and custodial work. Road Maintenance Operator II – Taos County Public Works: Under the general supervision of the Road Foreman and Public Works Director, the Road Maintenance Operator II performs journey-level skilled tasks in the operation and maintenance of light- to heavy-duty equipment as needed to construct, maintain, or repair county traffic control devices, roads, bridges, culverts, and flood channels. Cook – Taos County Senior Program (Questa Site): Under the direction of the Head Cook or Site Manager, the Cook is responsible for some aspects of the nutrition service provided by the agency. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production programs and procedures. The Cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud. Pay: $15.97 per hour. Meals on Wheels Driver – Taos County Senior Program: Performs working-level skilled tasks to transport Foster Grandparents and/or Senior Companions to their volunteer site. The driver is also responsible for delivering meals to home-bound elderly during the noon hour. The driver is responsible for picking up and transporting volunteers and delivering meals in a timely fashion. The position is administered by the State Funded Senior Employment Program following established New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) and the NCNMEDD Non-Metro AAA Employment Program Guidelines.
