It’s That Time Of Year Again

The world is turning greener, dandelions light up our days, and we look forward to the riot of color spring and summer will surely bring. Here at the library, we look forward to the Summer Reading Program. It is the big event of our year, when our Questa area kids come out to join us for activities, fun summer reading, and exciting summer activities.

Why Summer Reading?
Our Summer Reading Program helps build relations and community, fosters civic partnerships, encourages reading and the use of other library resources, and provides needed out-of-school programming. Kids get to meet their friends, make new friends, and work together on projects and activities. Reading is encouraged, helping to keep learning alive during the summer break!

This year’s Questa Library program is “Color Our World.”

Although our program is geared toward kids ages 4 through 10, everyone is welcome. Public school, homeschool, no school, visiting from out-of-town… you are welcome! From the Questa Truckin’ event on June 6 to the Final Fiesta on July 18, most of our Tuesdays and Fridays will be filled with color. There will be painting, fiber arts, photography, graffiti, rock art, clay, and more. We are expecting special artists of all kinds to be here to help us with our color journey.

Registration begins Friday, June 6, with Questa Truckin’.
Come once, come every session, but do come! (The more often you come, the better chance you have of winning cool prizes.) We meet Tuesdays and Fridays through July 18, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Contact the Questa Library at library@villageofquesta.org for more information.

The Questa Quilters Guild

The latest lucky winner of the Questa Quilters raffle is Emily Jaramillo whose name was drawn on March 20, 2025.
The newest version of their yearly project was not only lovingly hand-made and hand-quilted…it was also hand-embroidered. One wonders how many stitches went into this spectacular quilt!

Some of the current quilters have been stitching together for over 35 years. This group of talented, selfless women has quietly improved the quality of life for many in our community with the money raised from raffling their beautiful creations.

The group meets Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. at the Questa Youth & Family Center. They will begin a new quilt soon.
