The Village of Questa along with the Amalia Neighborhood Association hosted Easter Egg Hunts for kiddos in the Questa, Cerro, Costilla, and Amalia communities on Saturday, April 8. Many community members showed up with their kids to participate in these community events. The events were put on in partnership with local community groups including the Questa Public Library, Questa and Cerro Fire and EMS Departments, Freedom Church, Living Word Ministries, Maria Gonzalez with the LOR Foundation and Vida del Norte Coalition, Wildcats Den, Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus, GFTD Celebration, Amalia Community Center, and individual volunteers who contributed to clean up, set up, and break down of events.
In Red River, dozens of children from Red River, Questa and surrounding areas found a veritable sea of candy-filled (plus a few cash-filled) plastic eggs on Easter Sunday, April 9 at Mallette Park in Red River. Business owner and parent Jenny Church almost single-handedly organized the event but after noting, Church says businesses who contributed to the event included Weezie’s Wild Rides, Sitzmark Sports, The Candy Company, Lil’ Willies, and Steam Coffee & Tea Co. Faith Mountain.
