GEMINI & THE SECOND RAY

Among the esoteric sciences which are all entangled—Esoteric Psychology, the Science of the Seven Rays, and Esoteric Astrology—there is close work together—we could even say they are like twins. While most of the signs are associated with a couple of the rays, Gemini is singular for being associated with virtually only one of the rays, the ray which also rules this particular Solar System, the Second Ray of Love-Wisdom. Yes, we know that last month was the month of Gemini, but we focus on it again and still, because this month Uranus shifts into the sign of Gemini after over seven years in the sign of Taurus. Uranus is one of our “generational” planets, which means that for the next eight years or so an entire generation of newborns will have Uranus in Gemini in their charts. The last generation thus impacted were those born from approximately 1941 to 1949. We also call those the war years.
Gemini is the sign of communication, of bringing pairs of opposites together which can create conflict, but with the purpose of finding harmony—in fact, to learn how to love wisely and share wisdom lovingly. Ultimately, it is also the conflict between this world and that, between Soul and Personality and our human job of learning how to find that balance so elusive here in Earth School. Unlike slower-to-move and needing-time-to- ponder Taurus, Gemini is quick, mental, and active, which in itself can cause conflict since taking time to ponder is one of the lessons it can learn from its neighbor. Gemini is also the sign of Education and Teachers while the Second Ray is the Ray of Teachers and Healers. Let us hope that the next eight years will show an increase in education and good teachers applying their wisdom in loving ways and helping their students to discern personal truths over Ultimate Truth, which Gemini also rules.
