Iconic Red River Restaurant, Shotgun Willie’s, Up for Sale

Shotgun Willie’s, a beloved and long-standing institution in Red River, is up for sale, with its current owners looking to move out of the food service industry. The popular restaurant, known for its high volume and community presence, is seeking a new owner to carry on its legacy.

“We are looking at some new opportunities outside of the food service business,” the owners stated, explaining their decision to sell at this time. They expressed a desire for the sale to be completed by the fall, hoping to ensure a smooth and thorough transition. The owners hope to find someone who “enjoys the food business and makes it their own,” wishing them the same years of success they have enjoyed.

Reflecting on their time with the restaurant, the owners shared that the most rewarding part has been working with their “great staff as well as serving our community.” They also highlighted their love for assisting with catering needs in the area. When asked about their best memory, they recalled working with Carl Hodges, the original owner, who helped them “keep the original charm” when they took over 13 years ago. For the staff, however, the most memorable moment was a visit from country music star Jason Aldean.

As a staple of the Red River community, the owners had some valuable advice for future owners: “Be a part of the community. We never really had to advertise. Our locals spread the word of our consistent hours and food.”
