A new Mexican restaurant is set to open its doors in Red River this fall. Mi Cocina Mexicana will be located inside Lifts West and plans to be fully operational by mid-November.

The restaurant has already built a loyal following at its other locations, with customers praising its food, atmosphere and family-oriented service.

“We love to eat here! The owner is so nice and friendly. The restaurant is very clean, and we really like the food,” said Jan Reeve in an online review. “Some of our favorites are tacos, enchiladas and sopapillas.”

Another reviewer highlighted the staff’s attentiveness to dietary needs. “When we want Mexican cuisine, we head over to Mi Cocina Mexicana. Their friendly staff takes food allergies seriously and recommended several safe options. We love their salsa and fajitas.”

Others praised the restaurant’s family-run environment and flavorful dishes. “Everyone is friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. The food is exceptional,” one customer wrote. “The steak fajitas are first rate, but the chicken fajitas are unsurpassed.”

The menu will feature staples such as fajitas, enchiladas, tamales, burritos, carne dishes and combination plate specials, offering a blend of traditional Mexican cuisine with a family-friendly atmosphere.

The Red River location will be the second Mi Cocina Mexicana restaurant in northern New Mexico. They will continue to operate their Angel Fire restaurant.
