Local FFA Member Receives Grant from Boot Barn

A Questa High School student has received a $1,000 Supervised Agricultural Experience grant from Boot Barn through the National FFA Organization.

Mia Ramos, a member of the Questa FFA Chapter, was selected to receive the grant, which will help her create or expand her Supervised Agricultural Experience, commonly known as an SAE.

SAE grants are designed to support FFA members as they complete one of the organization’s core requirements. Each FFA member must develop and carry out an SAE, which may include owning and operating an agriculture-related business, working for an agricultural employer or conducting an agricultural research project. Upon completion, students submit a comprehensive report documenting their career development experience.

Ramos’ application was selected from among 1,468 applications submitted nationwide. This year, 23 different sponsors funded SAE grants. A full list of sponsors is available on the National FFA Organization’s website on the SAE Grants webpage.

The National FFA Organization is a school-based youth leadership development organization serving more than 1,042,245 student members through 9,407 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
