The North Central Regional Transit District, operator of the RTD Blue Bus, is looking to implement a series of route modifications as a result of its recent service plan update and in an effort to run routes more efficiently.
Routes affected are: 320 Questa (between downtown Taos and Costilla, and the route that serves the readership of the Questa Del Rio News), 260 La Cienega (from the Village of La Cienega to locations on the southern end of the City of Santa Fe, concluding at Santa Fe Place Mall), and 180 El Rito (the town in Rio Arriba County, near Ojo Caliente, not our northern Questa neighborhood).
On the 320 Questa route between Taos and Costilla, the Cerro to Costilla extension is under consideration for reduction to just one day per week. The RTD is seeking public comment on this change. A public hearing will be conducted at the January board meeting (January 7, 2022, at 9 am) which can be attended virtually or in person. Service Curtailed to 24-Hour Advance Reservation on Questa and Red River Routes Until Further Notice
As a result of staffing shortages, RTD Blue Bus service on the 320 Questa and 310 Red River routes was converted to a Demand Request service, from 6 am to noon and 2 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Reservations/requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and are on a first-come, first-served basis. The modification went into effect Monday, November 15. All pickups and drop-offs are at designated RTD bus stops only.
