New Dentist Dr. Michael McCormack Arrives at Questa PMS Clinic

Dr. Michael McCormack, DDS, has officially arrived in Questa and is ready to welcome new patients. His arrival follows the retirement of Dr. Garrett Campbell, who served the community for about two years, leaving a brief gap in care while the Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) clinic awaited its new dentist.

Dr. McCormack brings an approachable personality and a genuine dedication to his patients. Rounding out his skilled team are dental hygienist Sue Kiermont and dental assistant Michelle Pacheco. Kiermont is a familiar and trusted face who has been proudly serving the dental needs of our area for many years. Pacheco has also been a steady presence for local patients, having worked for five years with Dr. Jameson until his retirement before joining PMS about a year ago. Together, this dedicated team of dental professionals is ready to provide high-quality care right here at home, saving residents from having to travel to Taos, Santa Fe, or Albuquerque.

Dentistry is a second career for Dr. McCormack, who feels he has truly found his calling. Originally working in the IT field, he realized he wanted a change and felt drawn to healthcare—specifically dentistry.

“Being a patient myself in the past, I knew I wanted to make the experience an enjoyable one for my patients,” he said.

After earning his degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Dr. McCormack went on to practice in various locations, including Eugene, Oregon; Denver, Colorado; and Farmington, New Mexico. Now commuting from Taos, he specializes in extractions, crowns, and bridges, alongside standard routine dental care.

The clinic is open to patients of all ages, from young children to the elderly, with a strong focus on comfort.

“I never want to introduce dental trauma to our children,” Dr. McCormack emphasized. “If a child needs specialized care, we will refer them to a pediatric dentist.”

He and his team are eager to serve Questa and the surrounding areas, aiming to make every appointment as stress-free as possible. “I want to create a positive experience for patients,” he shared. “There might even be a bad joke thrown in there during your visit.”

Ultimately, Dr. McCormack enjoys the region and plans to stay for the long haul. “We’re here to get people the treatment they need,” he said.

The clinic provides a wide range of services, including comprehensive exams, preventive care, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, and dentures, with options for urgent care visits and is currently accepting new patients.
