OBITUARY: Aida Herrera Flores

Aida Herrera Flores, 97, a resident of Questa and former resident of San Francisco, California, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 27, 2022.


She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Fermin & Ursula Rael Herrera; husband Antonio “Tony” Flores; son Anthony David Flores; grandson Jerome Flores; sisters Oralia Gaillour (Michael), Mabel Trujillo (Virgil); and brother Eliu Herrera and his beloved son Lawrence Herrera.


Aida is survived by her children Richard Flores (Florence), Diana Flores LaCome, Nadine Flores Marinelli (Ron), Fabian Flores (Mary); her beloved sister Isabel Garcia (Ben, who was her special brother-in-law), special sister-in-law Berlinda Herrera; grandchildren Devonne Ayala, Craig Flores (Denise), Saige Flores Maes (Andrew), and Miss Ivy Flores; great-grandchildren Harley Flores and Miss Gabriella Flores.


A special thank you to Rose Ortega, for her excellent care of our mother, caregivers Mary Flores, Diane Nava, and Anvoi Hospice. Thanks to all family, cousins, and friends who came by to visit, bring firewood, food, texts, phone calls and those offering help, and with words of encouragement and prayers.


We are grateful to have a resurrection hope that Jehovah God promises, and a time when we will see all of our loved ones, once again. Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29, Revelation 21:3,4 “The Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials…. 1st Corinthians 1:3-4


Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 10:30 am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos; a meal will follow at the VFW in Questa, provided by the Fellowship Circle. A private interment will take place at El Pueblito Cemetery in Questa. The family of Aida Herrera Flores has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
