Age 80, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She is dearly loved and her presence in our daily lives will be truly missed. Sylvia was born to Ventura and Rebecca Maes in Amalia, New Mexico on February 27, 1942. She was a graduate of Costilla High School and Santa Fe Vocational School. She was a retiree from the State of New Mexico Department of Labor, Employment Division and was employed for several years thereafter with Kmart Corp. Sylvia was the fourth of six siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and her son, Andrew Mascarenas. She is survived by her three daughters and son; Sharon (Keith) Bowers, Yolanda (Richard) Romero, Annette (Anthony) Martinez, Robert (Netty) Mascarenas; as well as ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the love of her life, Joe Sisneros, who was always by her side and so lovingly took such wonderful care of her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, 11:00am at Living Word Ministries Church, 12 Llano Rd, Questa, New Mexico 87556
