Bobby Ray Fowler passed away on May 2, 2025, in Del City, Oklahoma when his big, kind heart stopped beating. Though he had a long history of heart issues, his sudden passing came as a shock to many, as he remained active and vibrant—skiing Taos Mountain and cycling through Wild Rivers.
Born on November 25, 1953, Bobby spent most of his life in Oklahoma City before relocating to Questa, New Mexico in 2016. There, he built a home with his wife, Vicki Duncan, and became deeply involved in the local community.
At the time of his passing, Bobby was lovingly caring for his 94-year-old mother, Colleen Fowler of Del City, Oklahoma.
Bobby was previously married to Teresa McCurdy, who passed away in 2013. Together they had two sons, Jacob and Collin Fowler. He was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren who reside in Oklahoma.
Bobby dedicated over 36 years of his life to healthcare, serving as a surgical nurse and RN First Assistant at various hospitals and surgery centers throughout Oklahoma City. He also served as school nurse for Questa Independent School District for a brief time.
Known for his generosity and compassion, Bobby dedicated much of his time to helping others. He volunteered regularly at the Questa Food Pantry and served as a member of the Latir Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. He also contributed as a board member of Localogy and volunteered with Earth Journey—both local nonprofit organizations committed to community enrichment.
Bobby’s passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. The El Rito community especially mourns the loss of someone so universally cherished.
May his memory bring comfort to all who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
