Brenda Louisa (Hurst) Romero, 64, of El Prado, New Mexico, peacefully entered eternity on October 5, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born in Taos, New Mexico, on January 4, 1962, and was raised by her mother, Benita (Espinosa) Hurst, in Questa, New Mexico.

Brenda was known as a loving, caring, and compassionate mother and grandmother. She will be remembered most for her delicious cooking and prolific gardens.

She is survived by her husband, David Romero Jr.; her children, Bernadette (Ramon) Romero, Angela Romero, Ben (Cheyenne) Romero, and Joseph (Hannah) Romero; eight grandchildren; and her siblings, Bernice, Billy, Clara, Rosie, Carmen, and Lulu.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Benita, and her siblings, Matthew, Karen, Ben, Patricia, Charlie, and Jimmy.

May her memory forever be a blessing, and may her legacy continue through her loved ones.
A service was scheduled for Oct. 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home.
