Cynthia Ortega age 58, of Questa, NM was called home unexpectedly on October 28, 2022, along with her loving mother Albina (Sweetie) Gallegos.

She was well known in her community as well as in Taos and surrounding areas. She was known for her kindness and welcoming, sweet words. She had a heart of gold and would always give the shirt off her back for anyone, but most of all, will be remembered for her smile and compassionate words.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her widowed husband Johnny DeHerrera; parents Jimmy and Albina (Sweetie) Gallegos; brother Nolan Martinez.

She is survived by her husband Narciso Ortega of Questa; daughters CyndeeMarie Gallegos DeHerrera and Narcissa Ortega, son Kyle Ortega; three loving granddaughters Samantha Miera (Christopher Trujillo), Tiffany Miera and Chanell Vigil; one great granddaughter Nevaeh Faith Trujillo, born October 11, 2022, whom Cynthia was beyond proud of; three sisters who she meant the world to, Roxanne Martinez, Dennise Vasquez (David), Christina Gallegos (Marc); nephews and nieces Vanessa, Tony, Dessirey, Estevan, Jerricah and Antonio; great- nephews and nieces Savannah (Jesse), Alyssa, Isaac, Antonia and Cipriano, who meant the world to her and will be missed greatly to all, as well as Adolfo Suazo her beloved friend.
Service arrangements are pending at this time. The family of Cynthia Ortega has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
