OBITUARY: Isabel Aurora Abeyta

Isabel Aurora Abeyta, Age 93, of Questa, passed away at home on September 8, 2023. She was born in 1930 in Alcalde, NM to parents Vicenita Sena and Francisco Gallegos. Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, sister Ida Rivera, brothers Profio Gallegos and Nesito Gallegos, son Patrick Abeyta, grandchildren Patricia Chavez, Valeen Abeyta, Enrique Abeyta and Gordon Suazo, and husband of 50 years married, Alfred P. Abeyta. She is survived by her son, Alfred Roy (Beatrice Abeyta), daughters Rosann Suazo (Ruben Montoya) and Edith Abeyta; grandchildren Benjamin Jr., Jesus, Diego, Julia and Omar Olivias, Victoria, Alfred Roy Jr., Nicky, Veronica Suazo and Gordon; great-grandchildren Juliana and Leonel Olivias, Erica and Damian, Santiago, Tony, Xavier, Joey, Mikayla, Anjelica, Benito, Diana, Analayah, Diego Jr., Gabriel, Maliah, Malikya, Cruz and Adriana; great-great-grandchildren Oriya, Luna, Anuel, Noriel, Harley, JJ, Mila, Iris, Maliah, Malki, Marehly Marquez, Emyliah Rodriguez, Salvador Marquez, Roy Jr. Abeyta, Andres, Shaylee, Enrique, Zurina, Gianni, Raziya and Roman Abeyta-Baca and many other relatives and friends. Isabel went to school until the eighth grade and got married December 9, 1953 to Alfred P. Abeyta, and they had four children: Roy, Roseann, Patrick, and Edith Abeyta. She was a homemaker and made the best bread, then later worked as a housekeeper in Taos. She was also a Grandma at Ranchos Elementary School. She loved Bingo. We will always keep you in our hearts, fly with the Angels, dance in heaven with Pare Bear, Patrick, Gordon and most of all “Daddy.” Rosary was recited on Friday, September 29, and funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at San Francisco de Assi with interment to follow at the family cemetery in Edith, Colorado. Arrangements were by Rivera Family Funeral Home.
