Josiah B. (Si) Mandonado, age 21, a resident of Questa, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ben Mandonado and Ramon Pacheco, aunts Epimenia Bailon, Michelle Wilson, and Anita Pacheco.
Josiah’s legacy will live on through all his loved ones. There are so many great memories of him. Many will remember his love for riding horses, riding his Harley, and his passions and dedication to serving his community and surrounding communities through Fire and EMS, with his loving heart.
He is survived by his parents, Joe Ben and Teresa Mandonado; siblings Shanece, Joseph, DJ (Daisha Vigil), Noah, and Mathias Mandonado; niece Aliana Mandonado, god-daughter Ameliyah Mandonado; nephews Anthony Montoya, Alija Mandonado Anaya, Adrian Anaya, and Grayson Mandonado; grandmother Linda Pacheco; his padrinos Abe and Reena Garcia, god-sisters Sarah Garcia and Alysia Valencia (Daniel); plus many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and cherished friends.
Rosary was recited on Saturday December 21, 2024, at 11 am, followed by the funeral service at the Questa High School gymnasium. Burial followed at El Pueblito Cemetery.
Serving the family as pallbearers were Shanece, DJ, Joseph, Noah, Mathias Mandonado, Marcus, Nathaniel Mascarenas, and Conrad Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers were Josiah Griego, Noah Rael, Lenny Quintana, Martin Rivera, Samuel Montoya, JR Lee Rael, Mario Wilson, Briason Whitlock, Nathan Mascarenas, Devin Hurst, Elias Chavez, Secundino Martinez (Socks), Miguel Romero, Michael Cordova, Raynelle Cordova, and Julian Garcia.
