Wilfred “Fluff” Roybal age 71, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Costilla, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Nicolas Macias, Katrina Fernandez, Armando Fernandez, Jr., and Donovan Vigil; parents Luis and Mary Ann Roybal; nephew Donovan Vallejos; paternal grandparents Ruperto and Emelia Roybal; and maternal grandparents Modesto and Francisquita Garcia.
Wilfred loved to go fishing, spend time in the mountains, and he was a great cook. He enjoyed working on projects with his hands.
He is survived by his children Enrique Roybal, Eugenio Roybal, Anna Roybal, Mashari Roybal, Armando Fernandez, Manuel Fernandez, and Sara Fernandez; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Lonnie Roybal (Debra), Jana Vallejos (Ray), Marvin Roybal (Rachel) and Karen Martinez; plus many more loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Public visitation was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla with the rosary which followed. The Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday October 19, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla. Burial followed at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Costilla.
