Outstanding Youth Report: February 2024

Starting in February, we will begin highlighting our youth for their contributions to the community through our Outstanding Youth Report series. This month, we are recognizing Kingston Trujillo Gist, grandson of Berna Trujillo and great-grandson of Berlinda Trujillo. Kingston was nominated by Councilman Jason Gonzalez and community leader Maria Gonzalez. After the December Christmas celebration on Questa’s main street, Kingston walked through Questa with a wheelbarrow, picking up the farolito bags. On a regular basis, Kingston helps with the food pantry on Fridays. He cleans acequias, helps with community clean-ups, and is always available to help ranchers and farmers with branding and moving cattle. In December, he assisted with the Active8 community dinner and also helps the elderly with cutting and stacking wood.

Kingston has a strong commitment to his community and an unwavering dedication to lending a helping hand, in any way he is able. Thank you, Kingston, for your work to make Questa a resilient and thriving place to live.

If you would like to nominate any youth in the Red River, Questa, Costilla, Amalia, Cerro or San Cristobal communities, please send an email to editor@questanews.com and include the student’s name and a list of the student’s contributions. A photo will also be required.
