Feel Inspired After the Art Tour? Take a Class!
Last August we planned a 2-part workshop, “Creative Journeys,” with artist and educator Mark Lewis Wagner of Questa and Oakland, Calif., but we had to cancel because of COVID restrictions. Now he’s back and willing to teach, so the Art for All! workshops carry on.
The first class — Saturday, Aug. 20, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — introduces a compass theme, with acrylics, collage, composition, monochromatic.
The second class — Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — explores imaginary plant/animal themes, using acrylics, values, making a mess!
Both free workshops are in the art room at the Questa Youth Center, next door to the Questa Library. Donations for materials are gratefully accepted.
You can attend one or both classes, and no previous art experience is necessary. Kids under age 12 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited: Call (510) 220-4157 to reserve your spot!
Mark’s non-profit, Drawing on Earth, holds two Guinness World records for large chalk drawings. They have worked with 30,000 kids and drawn on three continents—so far! Their mission is to connect art and creativity to youth and communities around the world. See more at drawingonearth.org.
