Questa’s young athletes had a breakout season on the diamond this year, with several teams clinching championship titles and a record number of players advancing to the Taos Little League All-Star teams.
All under the umbrella of Taos Little League, Questa fielded competitive squads in both baseball and softball across multiple age divisions

The Coach Pitch Softball team, Rise, led by Head Coach Marcus Chavez and Assistant Coach Brianna Ortega, brought home a championship title, finishing the season as first-place winners.
On the baseball side, the Coach Pitch team RubberDucks, coached by Jose and Alyssah Duran, repeated as champions, securing back-to-back titles.
Another top performer, the Minor Softball team Blaze, coached by Alyssah Duran, Jose Duran, and Natalie Montoya, made a deep run into the postseason and finished in second place at the championship game.
Questa’s youngest athletes also saw a strong season in T-ball. The Lobos, coached by Marcus Chavez and Delena Trujillo, and the Falcons, led by Brittany Chapman and supported by Sierra Trujillo, introduced many players to the game with energy and sportsmanship.
The Minor Baseball team Comets, coached by Jose Ortega and Ernie Griego, rounded out Questa’s strong presence across the league.
This year also marked a historic moment for Questa’s representation in All-Star selections, with eight local players making the cut—the highest number in the past four years.
Among those selected:
- Aria Duran (Minor Softball)
- Ayana Trujillo (Major Softball)
- Navaeh Vigil (Major Softball)
- Aubree Cisneros (Major Softball)
- Jaylee Rael (Junior Softball)
- Adrian Rael (Junior Softball)
- Jeremiah Gallegos (Minor Baseball)
- Donovan Ortega (9-11 Baseball Division)
“These kids worked hard all season, and their efforts paid off,” said Alyssah Duran. “We are so proud to see Questa so well represented at the championship level and in the All-Stars.”
With this standout season, Questa continues to establish itself as a growing force in northern New Mexico youth sports.
Thank you to Alyssah Duran for her contributions to this report.
