“All Together Now” is the rallying cry among library staff, Friends of the Questa Public Library, and a large group of community volunteers, all dedicated to Questa Public Library’s 2023 Summer Reading Program, this year being led by Substitute Librarian and Senior Technology Program Coordinator, Monica McClelland.
The Questa Library has been offering Summer Reading Programs for over 10 years. Each year has had a different theme, but one thing never changes…we are committed to providing our local children with opportunities to continue learning throughout the summer. We also believe kids should have fun, and we do our best to provide enjoyable experiences for all.
This year’s Summer Reading program begins Tuesday, June 9, with Questa Truckin’ – featuring trucks, trucks, and more trucks! Registration on June 9 is from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The program continues each Tuesday and Friday morning from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. through July 14, with the exception of July 4 due to the holiday.
Children ages 4-10 are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. Baby brothers or sisters who need to tag along are permitted. We also welcome older siblings to volunteer as helpers.
We will have animals from Stray Hearts, chalk art, agriculture, TWIRL, the Salida Circus, a magic show, puppets with Christina and Fidel, and a lot of surprises. Each week promises fun, games, prizes and snacks. We will explore new books in the library and read to enter the drawing to win a scooter or a bike. Children can attend as many sessions as they wish. Remember: The more a child attends, the more fun they have and the more times they can enter the drawings each week and at the end of the program! The final day of the program is just for fun and games, special food, and the big (really big) drawing.
“All Together Now” is made possible by a Chevron Grant for Good through the Taos Community Foundation, and by the Friends of the Questa Public Library.
