Red River 25th Annual Car Show

By MAX KHUDIAKOV

Every year on the first weekend in June, car enthusiasts and collectors from all over New Mexico (as well as our neighboring states of Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma) head to the small mountain town of Red River, nestled in New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo Mountains, for the Red River Car Show.

The Car Show, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will take place at Brandenburg Park, located in the heart of Red River, on Saturday, June 5. The event will be open to the public from 9 am until 4 pm. The organizer of the event, the Town of Red River, offers free admission.

The sponsors of each category or their representatives will vote for the best vehicle in the class they sponsored. The public can also vote! Best of Show voting will run from 10 am until 2 pm. The voting will be followed by the awards ceremony at 2:30 pm.

The event will finish with a Main Street cruise, starting at 4 pm, led by the People’s Choice Best of Show winner. The cruise will start on the west side of town near the Red River Stables and move eastward along Main Street to Caribel Trail.

The Town of Red River has partnered with the Red River Community House to offer family-friendly games and activities during the event. Additionally, there will be specialty food vendors set up within the park during Car Show hours, serving gourmet food and snacks.

Please note that this event will be held in accordance with the State of New Mexico COVID-19 regulations in place at the time of the event!
