Red River is Again Nominated for USA Today’s “Best Ski Town”

The Town of Red River Office of Economic Development & Tourism announced via press release that it is honored to be nominated for the 2024 USA Today’s “Best Ski Town” award. Red River won this title in both 2021 and 2023. Red River continues to distinguish itself as a premier destination for skiers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families alike.

The release goes on to say Red River offers visitors a truly unique and personal winter skiing experience. The town is home to a family-owned downhill ski area, which provides world-class skiing with welcoming, small-town charm. In addition, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing at another family-operated resort, as well as a range of other outdoor recreation opportunities that stretch beyond the winter season.

From shopping at local boutiques to dining at cozy restaurants, Red River’s charm extends far beyond the slopes for visitors, with the opportunity to walk the streets lined with family-owned businesses that reflect the town’s commitment to hospitality.

With its diverse lodging options, ranging from hotels to cabins, guests are always able to find a home away from home in this scenic mountain community!

Red River offers hiking, fishing, and mountain biking in the warmer months, and skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling during the winter.

The town’s unique blend of authentic charm, natural beauty, and variety of activities keeps tourists coming back year after year, which also serves the important purpose of stimulating the economy and providing jobs for locals.

“Being nominated once again for USA Today’s ‘Best Ski Town’ award is a tremendous honor for Red River,” said Mayor Linda Calhoun. “This reflects our community’s dedication to providing an unforgettable experience for visitors, from our family-owned businesses to our stunning mountain landscape. We’re excited to continue welcoming guests from all over to experience the magic of Red River.”

“This nomination reaffirms Red River’s standing as one of the best places for year-round recreation,” said Director of Economic Development & Tourism for the Town of Red River Max Khudiakov. “We’re proud of our diverse outdoor offerings, from skiing and snowmobiling in the winter to hiking and fishing in the summer. The heart of Red River is its people, and we invite everyone to come and experience our unique community spirit.”
