After one year of business, the mother/daughter duo behind RJ’s Grill has closed up shop at their Station 522 & Cisneros Fuel location as they prepare to transition their business model to a food truck. Jessica Cisneros and Raven Cisneros opened their food business in February 2022. They did so in an effort to broaden the food options in town while learning how to own and operate a family business.
“Our first year in business was great, but it was also difficult as it was Raven and I managing alone,” Jessica Cisneros says. “We managed and met some awesome people. We also have a good reputation for the best burritos in town!” she says. While Jessica and Raven ran the operations full time, Jessica’s daughter and Raven’s sister Faith also worked at the restaurant through the school work study program, making it a full family operation.
After a successful first year in business, the Cisneros family decided it was time to take their operation on the road by transitioning to a food truck. “Being mobile will give us the opportunity to showcase our delicious food throughout the town and during events, too,” Jessica says. The duo hopes to have RJ’s back online and operating out of a Food Truck by spring 2024.
Jessica and Raven send the following message to their patrons during this transition period: “We would like to thank everyone in our community for their support after our first year in business! We look forward to serving our community some delicious food in the near future!”
