The school report cards are in and it’s clear now how schools in our local region are doing on their proficiencies. This monitoring and reporting system is run by the New Mexico Public Education Department. They work closely with educators, communities, and families to ensure parents have a clear view of how their child’s school is performing year by year.
The Red River Valley Charter School, Questa High School, and Taos Academy were listed as Spotlight Schools! Spotlight Schools have an overall index score in the top 25 percent of schools in New Mexico. Additionally, Questa High School’s graduation rate has increased by 1.8 percent. Questa’s students were also rated at 85.2 percent for college and career readiness. Red River Valley Charter School’s overall attendance rate is listed at 83.1 percent. The students’ overall reading proficiency is rated at 50 percent. Taos Academy’s graduation rate has increased by 1.7 percent and students there are reading in the 59th percentile.
