The Senator Carlos R. Cisneros Memorial Highway was dedicated on Sept. 1 with the unveiling of four road signs that commemorate the late Senator from Questa. During his 34 years of serving in the legislature, Senator Cisneros made many contributions to our community, including securing millions of dollars for capital projects. Senator Bobby Gonzales, who was appointed to take the late senator’s place in the New Mexico Senate, sponsored the legislation that passed to rename NM Hwy 522 in honor of Carlos Cisneros from the Colorado border south to the intersection of Hwy 64 north of Taos.
