Share Your Story at a Questa del Rio News Listening Session

A series of Questa del Rio News community listening sessions funded through the LOR Foundation will launch this February, giving residents an opportunity to share their perspectives on local coverage and community issues directly with newsroom staff.

The three sessions, titled “Your Voice, Our Coverage — Community Listening Sessions,” are designed to engage locals, businesses and nonprofit organizations in conversations about what matters most to them and how local reporting can better reflect community needs.

Questa del Rio News says the sessions will focus on listening to community concerns, discussing priority topics and exploring ways to strengthen coverage of local issues. All staff members are encouraged to participate, particularly those available to attend in person, to meet residents and take part in the discussions.

Each session will be offered in a hybrid format, with in-person attendance and a virtual option on Facebook live for those unable to attend physically. Meals will be provided for up to 30 community members at each event.

The first session is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16, Presidents Day, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Rosie’s Smokehouse in Questa.

The second session will be held Saturday, March 28, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at My Tia’s Café in Cerro.

The final session is planned for Wednesday, April 22, Earth Day, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Grill at El Monte Carlo.
Community members interested in participating will be able to share feedback on coverage priorities, local concerns and ideas for strengthening the newspaper’s role as a community resource.

To RSVP, visit https://www.eventcreate.com/e/rosieslisteningsession. RSVP’s will be taken to ensure we have enough food. RSVP’s for upcoming sessions at My Tia’s Cafe and The Grill at El Monte Carlo will be posted in subsequent issues of our paper.
