The holidays are just around the corner, bringing thoughts of food, family, fellowship, and fun!
As usual, the Questa Creative Council (QCC) will host the community’s festive holiday event with mountains of goodies on the second Saturday in December. Stop by and find local arts, crafts and friends, including community groups like the library and QCC. It will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Questa VFW.
Just in time for holiday buying, here are a sampling from your neighbors who’ve already signed up to be at the market: candles, skincare products, crosses, leatherwork, felt ornaments, wood and stone jewelry, furniture, bead and crochet work, recycled crafts, foods, and pottery.
This is Questa’s biggest local holiday shopping spot and focuses on supporting local artists/makers. We hope to see you there in one fashion or another! (If you are interested in vending this year, check out the QCC website to see if spots are still available, or call us with any questions: (575) 586-5658.
Art Kits for Kids
Art supplies for area kids add to the holiday spirit, distributed for free at Questa Library. Supplies were purchased from a fund drive we held earlier in the year (and you can still contribute!). This is an annual event, to ensure that all children can engage in art activities that nurture their creativity, from teens to the littlest ones!
The free supplies, including paper, paints, paintbrushes, and more will be distributed at the Questa public library on Friday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., first come, first served.
Traditional Foods Cooking Class
We started the holiday season off last month, sponsoring a cooking class of traditional treats led by Flavio Cisneros, at Living Word’s kitchen. Yummy biscochitos, prune pie, and other treats were sampled and demonstrated. Many people came and enjoyed themselves!
Wishing you warmth, peace, joy and light as we move through darker days. Contact us at QuestaCreativeCouncil.org or (575) 586-5658 and support our mission to strengthen and sustain community enrichment and economic opportunities through arts, culture, history, and education. We always need volunteers and everyone is welcome.
