The LOR Foundation Looks Forward to a Fruitful New Year

Despite the cold and dark of winter, the Questa community remains filled with warmth. Whether it be family gatherings, church services, or simply lending a helping hand with snow, locals show the beauty of Questa and rural living every day.

For many residents, the new year is an opportunity to both reflect and look forward. Here at the LOR Foundation, we’re doing the same.

Last year was filled with success and celebration, as dedicated Questaños improved their community by strengthening schools, aiding first responders, and expanding youth sports. Over the course of the year, LOR was thrilled to support more than 30 community projects conceived of and carried out by Questa locals.

“We had so many inspiring solutions come from the community last year,” says Maria Gonzalez, LOR’s Questa community officer. “I’m excited to see even more ideas this year, especially around housing and water.”

Those two things — water and housing — are important for any rural community, and LOR is excited to see the innovative ideas that Questa residents bring to the table to help address challenges such as these.
“It doesn’t matter who you are, we want to hear from you,” Gonzalez says. “Questaños know best what will benefit current and future generations, and at LOR we want to lend a hand and make those solutions a reality.”

As the year kicks off, Gonzalez is looking forward to discussing new opportunities with residents while also recognizing the work of Questa’s 2023 community champions. Anyone with an idea or a passion for helping the Questa community can reach her by email at maria@lorfoundation.org or by phone at (575)- 665-2001.

The LOR Foundation wishes everyone a happy and healthy 2024!
