The newly formed women’s networking group “Women of Impact” held its first meeting on Thursday, June 12, 2025, bringing together women from Questa and surrounding communities for an evening dedicated to connection, engagement, and overall fun!
The newly established group aims to support women in Questa and surrounding communities—including current business owners, those looking to start a venture, and those seeking to network and support their community. The goal is to meet every other month, featuring engaging activities or positive initiatives designed to foster new connections and collaborations among women already contributing positively to Questa and neighboring areas.
The event, generously hosted and supported by Maria Gonzalez (Questa’s LOR Community Officer), Lynn Skall (QEDF Director), Jennifer Ammann (100% Taos County Initiative coordinator), Monique Parker (artist and QEDF Business Retention & Expansion coordinator), and Lora Arciniega (from Questa Del Rio News) was held at the local LOR Foundation office off Highway 38.
The highlight of the evening was a delightful “sip and paint” session, expertly led by Monique Parker, allowing attendees to personalize journal covers while engaging in lively conversation. This creative activity encouraged a fun, relaxing environment, creating connections and demonstrating the group’s commitment to both support and fun. Organizers described the evening as “light and fun,” with laughter audible from outside the building.
The gathering provided women an outlet to enjoy an activity outside of their normal routines. Thirty-one women from all walks of life were in attendance.
Despite the strong turnout, organizers noted they did not capture nearly all the women they wished to reach. They plan to continue spreading the word throughout Questa and its neighboring communities.
Those interested in supporting or attending the next engagement should mark their calendars for Aug. 28, with more information expected soon.
