The Red River Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Red River Oktoberfest on Oct. 10-12 at Brandenburg Park, organizers announced.
Presented in partnership with Red River Brewery & Distillery, Edelweiss Condominiums and Rio Colorado Cabins, this year’s festival will feature Bavarian traditions alongside the unique heritage of northern New Mexico.
Highlights include live music from the Lederhosen Junkies, known for their polka and modern party sets, as well as DJ Luisa Houseworks. Competitions will return with the Beard and Mustache Contest, the third annual Red River Strongman event, a brat-eating contest, and the Ms. and Mr. Oktoberfest contest.
Food vendors will offer a mix of German and New Mexican dishes, including bratwursts, Navajo tacos, pastries, sandwiches and pizza. Eight breweries, along with New Mexico wineries and distilleries, will provide beverages, with non-alcoholic options such as coffee, smoothies and lemonade also available.
Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Red River offers visitors opportunities to hike in Carson National Forest, shop at local stores and explore the town’s restaurants during the festival weekend.
Tickets are available now at redriverchamber.org and will also be sold at the gates. The event will take place rain or shine.
