A Celebration Of Leadership And Service

Some people by nature are thoughtful, compassionate, and kind. Others are quick-thinking, action-oriented, and organized. When all those valuable qualities and many more are rolled into one individual, positive and transformative things happen.
Former Fire and EMS Chief of the Latir Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) jona olsson is a living example. She has passionately and dedicatedly served the LVFD and Enchanted Circle communities for over 25 years – with 20 of those years as LVFD Fire Chief. And she continues to actively serve and respond.

During her tenure, she has recruited and trained the ever-evolving volunteer membership; developed initiatives; lobbied the government; raised standards for ISO; and contributed to a thriving fire service network nationally and internationally. All while having her pager on 24/7. jona is one-of-a-kind!

To honor jona olsson’s leadership and service, a special Tribute is being held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, 5 to 9 p.m., at the Latir Volunteer Fire Department, 25 Jaracito Road, Questa NM 87556. The program will feature a recognition ceremony, current member kudos, food, fellowship, and fun.

You are welcome to attend this celebration! Please RSVP by Friday, August 15, by emailing RSVP4Tribute@gmail.com or calling LVFD (575) 586-0645 – leaving a clear message with your name, telephone number, and the number of people coming. Thank you.

We look forward to seeing you there!
