New Beginnings

Have we mentioned the significance of 2025? Many esoteric predictions exist, but from an astrological perspective, two reasons this is an impactful year are that 1) Pluto finally shifted into Aquarius after having been in Capricorn since November 2008; and 2) Neptune, having been in the sign of Pisces since February 2012, slides into Aries, the sign of new beginnings. The combination of negative (yin) Capricorn-Pisces had a dark, heavy, karmic sense while the combination of positive (yang) Aquarius-Aries has a completely different feel. Of course, it will take awhile for this new sense to pervade the planet, but at least we can know it’s on the way.
We call Pluto and Neptune generational planets as opposed to the closer, more personal planets, like Mercury, Vulcan, and Venus. These planets move so slowly and remain in a single sign for so long that whole generations are colored by their qualities. Changing signs near the same time is a big deal. We recently discussed the meanings of the sign of humanity, Aquarius, and the meanings of the sign of the dark and deeply introspective Pisces. Sometime back we discussed the heavy, karmic sign of Capricorn. So here we have a march into being born again: from Capricorn where we deal with past life issues and undergo initiation—like pandemics, wars, and planetary upheavals—into Aquarius where we realize that we are all in this together, into Pisces where we reflect upon all that we have done and been and realize we understand so little.
And now at last we come out of that deep reflection, hopefully wiser and armed with a new repertoire of understandings and we are born back into the light to take up our banners and march for the good. Some writings on the Yugas (another term for Ages) say this is the year the most materialistic yuga ends and another begins, although as with our Astrological Ages, this doesn’t happen overnight. The new Yuga cycle is expected to be based on elevated spiritual principles and will eventually grow into the enlightened civilizations of the ascending Yuga Cycle, culminating in the next Golden Age. And you thought it was just another year.
